Title:Define the words imply and infer.How is language used to imply criticisms of Indian education in Sherman Alexie’s story of his experiences attending an Indian school? The word “imply” means to suggest something which maybe true indirectly.”Infer” means to suggest an idea which maybe true according to the information possessed.Alexie’s story infers that he and other Indians face challenge making them not be able to succeed at diverse aspects and face the racial discrimination. The writer lived in reservation and have woefully low opportunity to get higher on the social ladder.In the early American newspaper,all people appeared on the headlines and stories did not live in reservation.That phenomenon implied that only people born in middle- class or even higher class families had the chance to become a celebrities since almost all people appeared in the newspaper were wealthy,renowned or government officials.
