Vikram Pandit Faces Big Challenges at Citigroup Vikram Pandit is trying to turn around the giant financial institution, Citigroup using deliberate, careful, calculations. But he has been criticized in his short tenure for taking too long to make decisions. He has reorganized the organization, and is asking his followers to be patient with his analytical efforts. Not a fan of the limelight, Pandit often takes the subway to work. He spends a great deal of time asking a lot of questions and expecting others to be able to answer them. Critics, however, say his attention to detail is slowing decisions that need to be made, and that is slowing down change in the company. 1.
