Advisor Responsibilities Effectively communicate degree and graduation requirements and direct you to print and online resources for this information. Create an environment where mutual respect and trust allow you to define and develop realistic personal, academic, and professional goals. Protect the integrity of the UT degree by enforcing university and college policies. Encourage you to assume responsibility for your educational plans and decision making. Monitor and accurately document your progress toward meeting these goals. Serve as a teacher/mentor in providing you with guidance, support and advocacy. Be accessible for meeting with you in person or through telephone or e-mail. Provide you with information about and strategies for utilizing campus resources and services.
