Voth Participation Mark PSYC 1001/1002 – Grading Rubric for Student Participation A A student receiving an A always comes to lab group prepared, contributes readily to the conversation but doesn’t dominate it, makes thoughtful contributions that advance the conversation, shows interest in and respect for others’ views, participates actively in small groups, and conscientiously completes the various activities assigned by the TA. B A student receiving a B comes to lab group prepared and makes thoughtful comments when called upon, contributes occasionally without prompting, shows interest in and respect for others’ views, participates actively in small groups, and completes the activities assigned by the TA. A grade of B may also be appropriate for an active participant whose contributions are less developed or cogent than those of an A but still advance the conversation or activity. C A student receiving a C comes to lab prepared, but does not voluntarily contribute to discussions and gives only minimal answers when called upon. Such a student may be offering modest contributions to small group work.
