Developmental Assets 2 Developmental assets are very important at any stage of a child’s life, but in my opinion, the adolescence stage is one the most crucial of them all. This period is the detrimental to the child’s life, as s/he will be at a crossroads at this stage and determine which path of life to take. I am hoping to teach at this level in an underprivileged school in my area. This school caters mainly to economically disadvantage immigrants and African Americans. The main reason why I chose this particular school and level is because I truly want to make a difference in a child’s life and if I can mold them, even guide them at such difficult stage to create a platform for the future then, my job is done!
