Co. are fakers – put on smile and goto church He valued freedom for its own sake – only way for ppl to use their own devices to reach god Writing distinguished himself- All puritans believed in pre destination – god decided who would be saved and who would be damned God send down retribution to the colony to those who are good to watch over each other Earthly prominent led to believed as gods elect Calvin and Luther have main views – pre destination – calvin and destiny – luther Increased power of secular state – still had purpose of putting gods laws in effect State could coerce sinners to behave better No human born good – all are depraved- sinners State would help and support church – puritans believed
