     Not only is everyone in America feeling the  impact of the economy at home, but in the  cooperation that they work as well. Even when  someone can find a job, they are not guaranteed  the hours that they need in order to survive. The  major companies are not wanted any of their  employees to have any overtime because this costs  them more money. So in order for the company to  insure that they do not have to over pay, they are  willing to cut employees hours without thinking of  the consequences that may be for those families.

In order to reduce the poverty rate, a hard look needs to be taken at the cost of living as well as what amount would be good for minimum wage so that people could make ends meet. Not only just make ends meet, but it would also be great to want the American people to do more than just make ends meet. Minimum wage is something is always going to affect everyone so it is good to have a better understanding of the situation. It is also good to know what the minimum wage is in your state and how often it goes under review.
