Practice Hands-On Final 1. You will need a total of 2 physical machines for this final, so please sit somewhere that will give you access to two machines. 2. On one machine you will need 2 installs of server 2008 (Computer 1), on the other you will need 2 installs of server 2008 and one install of XP (Computer 2). 3. Please name your servers/client as follows: Computer 1 : AStudentDC1, AStudentTS Computer 2: AStudentDC2, AStudentFS, AStudentClient 4. Set all network cards to the Intel Gigabit cards, and look to the board for your IP configuration. 5. With all IPs set, run DC Promo on DC1. Once DC1 is finished, run DC Promo on DC2 and make this a secondary domain controller for the domain. 6. Join the 2 other servers & xp client to the domain (remember that if you can’t ping by name, you can’t join to the domain). Get your XP client to SP3 status. 7. Create 3 new folders in Active Directory – Lexington, Louisville, & New York – for each city, have a Mangers, IT Support & Users folder 8. Create 1 user per folder (3 per city, 9
