Quiz on The APA Documentation Style
A variety of documentation styles exist for report preparation. Each style includes the same basic
elements; the differences among the various styles relates to how they present the information.
The American Psychological Association style, abbreviated as the APA style, is a popular
documentation style for research papers in business classes.
With the APA style, text on all pages of the paper is double-spaced. The top, bottom, left, and
right margins should be set at one inch. The first word of each paragraph is indented one-half
inch from the left margin. The page number should appear in the upper right corner of each page,
including the title page, and the running head—usually the title of the paper or a short version of
a long title—should appear aligned against the left margin in the header of all pages. (Publication
Manual of the American Psychological Association, 2010)
APA papers start with a cover page.
Although a running head is standard, we won’t use that for
this quiz. We will center the title and follow instructions on indenting material.
