School Uniforms School Uniforms; Motivation or Discipline . School uniforms should be in every school for many reasons. If you look back in time to such cultures as the Amish, Mennonites and even further back to the times of schooling in centuries past, school uniforms have been a requirement and there was a no tolerance rule incorporated through punishment of the children and punishment of the parents for non- conformity. The colonists set strict rules as to what a child could wear to attend schooling, the Indians went so far as to issue loin clothes for the boys and appropriate garments for the girls. This goes to prove that school uniforms are not something that has just been created to make children conform to the likes of the administration of a particular school, but something that is finally catching on in every school system. The feeling of equality In every school district, there are students that dress with the best brand names and there are those students that have parents that simply cannot afford these brand names. In many stores, the prices have skyrocketed to the point that a second mortgage needs to be taken out to afford school shopping every year, some parents cannot afford to shop at the stores such as Justice, Gap, Macy’s. I know growing up I shopped at Kmart and stores of that nature. I remember wearing sneakers that were named Kangaroo’s that had Velcro straps instead of laces. The feeling some students made you feel because you were not shopping in the stores that they did made a person not want to go to school, let alone spend the entire day sitting beside them in school. This is why school uniforms are a great idea because no one is dressed better than the other person. Everyone looks the same as everyone else. Catholic schools have been doing this for years and finally this has caught on in public schools, such as McCaskey High School which is the high school for Lancaster City. I look at a movie called Pink Floyd the Wall, the movie portrays a man that has grown up with a horrible life, lost his dad in the war and had a hard life in general., in this movie there is a scene where he is in school, actually Another Brick in The

In China and other countries, uniforms are worn exactly for this reason, no one is better than the other person. Everyone is equal and is treated as
