Types of discounts in logistics One type of discount is quantity discounts - Big  chain stores like Costco are a great example of this.  Buying more items in large quantities gives  members a discounted price as it saves money on  shipping, storage and other business associated  costs .  Second type of discounts are cash discounts - add  incentive for  the buyer to pay their bills on or ahead  of time. Since cash flow is really important for  business health, the earlier a business collects the  money for the goods or services they provide, the  more funds it will have to pay its own bills and make  investments.
