Should the Federal Government have played more or less of a role in the U. S. in the period 1800 to 1830? Yes Women/ children Immigrants/ Indians In the period between 1800 and 1830, the US Federal Government should not have had played a big role in the country. In instances where the Federal Government did play a big role, it had bad consequences. When they did not, it set a precedent in the country that would change it for the better. Women and children were not affected by the Federal Government a lot. Document 6 took place at the birth of the women’s movement. The Document of Sentiments was a document signed by 100 people so that women would have more rights and would not be oppressed by men. For example, the women thought that they needed more legal rights. They felt that even though some states allowed voting for women, it had to be a national law that made it so that women could vote. Once a women got married the man would be the head of the family, and the women had nothing to do but submit to them. If the Federal Government did
