Coastline Community College Human Physiology (BIOL 175) Course Syllabus (Lecture) Summer 2010, 06/21/2010 – 08/15/2010 Instructor: Remon Wahba, MD E-mail : [email protected] Textbook: Human Physiology by Stuart Ira Fox 11 th Ed. Course Description: This course introduces students to the basic Physiology of different systems of the Human body with emphasis on the interaction between them to maintain body homeostasis. Students Learning Outcomes: After completion of this course: . 1 Student will be able to define the basic concepts of Human Physiology, and pass the quizzes, the midterm and the final exam. 2 Given a specific body organ, student will be able to correlate the structure of this organ to its function and outline the role of this specific organ in maintaining homeostasis. 3 Given a series of scenarios, student will be able to compare and contrast normal physiological processes and abnormal pathological conditions based on the knowledge obtained from the course. 4
