Page -17- If you remember, the official excuse that the Russians gave for the invasion, was to help the two areas (Ossetia in the South and Abkhazia in the North, outlined in yellow) to become independent countries...to break away from Georgia. We now know that Russia planned it at least 6 months (or more) in advance, infiltrated Russian agents into the areas and helped to foment the planned insurrection. Russia had approximately 100,000 troops on the border, with tanks, etc. ready to invade when “invited” to help the breakaway areas. It caught everyone
