My Assessment: A World View? • Goals: – 2 degrees centigrade (but seem to be planning for 3 or higher) 50 (to 550 or now 350) parts per million CO – 450 (to 550 or now 350) parts per million CO 2 – 20% to 40% reduction in emissions in 2020 relative to 1990 levels. “The New Policy Scenario trends are in line with tabilising e concentration of greenhouse gases at over stabilising the concentration of greenhouse gases at over 650 parts per million (ppm) of CO2-equivalent (eq), resulting in a likely temperature rise of more than 3.5°C in the long term.” (IEA World Energy Outlook, 11/09/10, Î Economist,11/25/10))
