Unformatted text preview: HOW TO GET THE GRADE YOU WANT IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY DAILY STUDYING 1. Your most important study vehicle is your lecture notes. Without a great set of lecture notes, you are doomed to do poorly. 2. Come to class ready to work hard. Take notes in pen. Write down everything I write on the board AND everything I say. Sometimes it is difficult to write and understand at the same time, but with practice you will get better. It is worth the effort because it is a skill that will help you do better in all your classes. If you find that you cannot both write and understand, the most important thing is to write. If you have everything written down, you will be able to understand the material after you have a chance to study your notes. 3. Make certain you read your notes within 12 hours of taking them. 4. Before the next lecture, read the sections in the book that were covered in the previous lecture and do the in-chapter problems in the sections that were covered.
