1 Assignment No. ( 4) : Kinematics of plane motion Intrinsic coordinates . 1. The velocity and the acceleration of a particle at point A of its path are indicated in the figure , where α = 75 ˚ and β = 45 ˚ determine : a – the tangential and the normal component of acceleration at point A. b – the radius of the path at point A . c – the coordinates of the center of the path when the particle is at point A . 2. The acceleration components of a particle motion are given by : a x = 40 m/s 2 , a y = 30t m/s 2 where t is in seconds . The initial conditions are : x 0 = 580 m, y 0 = 0 , x 0 = 0 , y 0 = 25 m/s When t = 1 sec . , find the following : a – the velocity and the acceleration of the particle. b –the time rate of change of the velocity magnitude . c – the coordinates of the center of curvature of the path at this instant . 3. The plane motion of a particle is described by the following data : a t = -160 sin ψ m/s 2 , ψ . = const. = 4 rad / sec ,v 0 = 40 m/s ,s 0 =0 , ψ 0 = 0 when y = 1.8 m , determine : a – the velocity and the acceleration of the particle . b – the time consumed during the motion .

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
