LAB REPORT FORMAT BIOLOGY 2203 Objective (2 points) Briefly state the purpose(s) of the experiment. Materials and Methods (variable) Summarize the protocol that you performed, incorporating any changes that were made. Include a short phrase describing the purpose of each step (if it is not obvious). This section should be in the past tense, because you are describing what you have already done. Include the names of organisms ( Drosophila , E. coli K, E. coli B) For fly experiments, describe the genotypes and phenotypes of the flies used in each cross. Include not only the crosses that you personally did, but also all crosses done by other members of the class. Do not include any descriptions of how the flies were handled, such as what kind of medium they were grown on, how they were anesthetized, etc. You can refer to the lab manual for all standard fly-breeding techniques. Omit all mention of any type of glassware or plastic ware (including test tubes, Petri dishes, flasks, graduated cylinders, centrifuge tubes, pipettes, etc.), tools (such as
