Glulam Technical Description • The design of the beam uses different quality laminations at different locations in the beam. In general, high quality laminations are used at the beam faces and low quality laminates are used in the center. • Symmetric and Unsymmetric combinations • Lumber used in the beam can be either visually or machine stress rated. • Machine stress rated lumber is preferred for high quality laminates.
