Miki Patel National Honor Society Essay The Four Characteristics of the National Honor Society The four characteristics that are required by the National Honor Society (NHS) are scholarship, leadership, service, and character. I believe that I have demonstrated all four of these characteristics through my high school years. I am so grateful just to be a nominee of NHS. Being a member of NHS will not only help me get into the college of my dreams, but it will also help me get more involved in my community. Scholarship is the knowledge gained by study. Ever since my freshman year of high school, I have had a passion for math and science. As a student who cares so much about getting into a good college, I try to take as many challenging courses as possible. This year, I have AP Biology and AP Chemistry. Having two AP classes isn't easy, but I do believe that my hard work will pay off after I finish high school. I have faced many obstacles in high school. I learned that the best way to overcome these obstacles was to study harder. I keep pushing myself to work harder even when the easiest option
