You should try to do most of the following questions: Fourth edition: 8.28, 8.29, 8.38, 8.66, 8.69 and 8.70 or Fifth edition: 8.30, 8.31, 8.40, 8.68, 8.71 and 8.72 A diesel engine operates in a cycle which can be represented in the (p,V) plane as sketched below. The four steps are (i) an adiabatic compression, (ii) constant pressure heating, (iii) adiabatic expansion and (iv) constant volume cooling.
