2 Frequency measurements 1. The circuit is in steady state. 2. The input is sinusoidal. Æ After all transients die out: Frequency response. Æ The ac or frequency response is based on the steady state response due to a sinusoidal (ac) input. Periodic Steady State Response 1. The circuit is in steady state. 2. The input is periodic (not necessarily sinusoidal). Æ After all transients die out: The output is periodic with the same period (periodic steady state)
