First of all, I understand the desire to create a “Christian-only” work environment. As our country becomes more politically liberal it becomes increasingly difficult to be openly Christian in a secular work environment. That being said, I strongly advise against creating a “Christian-only” hiring policy for the manufacturing facility. Although I understand that your ultimate goal may be to create a healthy and productive facility, this action would be illegal under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. Section 703(a) in Title VII states: “(a) It shall be an unlawful employment practice for an employer-- (1) to fail or refuse to hire or to discharge any individual, or otherwise to discriminate against any individual with respect to his compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment, because of such individual's race, color, religion, sex, or national origin…(e) Notwithstanding any other provision of this title…(2) it shall not be an unlawful employment practice for a school, college, university, or other
