Michael Hu Ward SAE Per.4 1/24/2009 Vocab Lesson 7 Theseus was an intrepid warrior of prodigious strength, and valiantly volunteered to kill the Minotaur despite knowing that nobody had ever survived the encounter or escaped the labyrinth before. The patient was greatly relieved after the doctor gave a lucid and understandable explanation of the ailment. Hera harbored extreme malice towards Hercules, and involved herself in numerous attempts to harm or kill him because he was the result of an affair between her husband Zeus and a mortal woman Alcmene. Before the modern era, many men earned their livings as mercenaries , selling themselves as capable soldiers to whoever was willing to pay. The Oracle of Delphi gave Oedipus an ominous warning, predicting an unpromising and unlucky future that involved Oedipus killing his father and marrying his mother. The adverse effect of using the pesticide in the basement was that the smell permeated in the air, penetrating walls and floors until it filled the rest of the house
