Hi Everyone, Provide a brief summary of the source and history of the theory. Discuss its strengths and weaknesses. Provide your own value-based assessment of the validity of the theory. Researchers and social scientists theorize as to why people behave in a deviant and criminal manner. Psychobiological theories are just one type of a way of thinking as to why people act the way they do. With psychobiological theories the emphasis is on human DNA, environmental contaminants, nutrition, hormones, physical trauma- especially to the brain, and body chemistry in human cognition, feeling and behavior; biochemical and physiological ways of looking at it are sometimes called psychobiological (Schmalleger, F. 2011). With that said, these theorists earlier believed that a person’s genetic make up plays a part in how one will behave. As this theory has been first looked at in the 1960’s, it has been discovered by examining the chromosomes of a person. With the female having XX and the male XY, there are others that have extra chromosomes, like XXX, XXY,
