Category-specific attention: a. Visual attention to details, goal driven b. The animated monitoring hypothesis c. Expertise hypothesis 8. When attention fails: a. Spatial Neglect: a failure of attention 1. Space is neglected on side contralateral to the damaged side of the brain b. Tests for neglect: 1. Target tests 2. Neglect is defect of looking, listening, exploring
