Chapman The Unfinished Nation Part II, episodes 41-42: Episodes 41 and 42 were about World War II and the after math of the war. During the war something happened in America, we got some common sense. It did not last long but it was there. Women began integrating into the work force and military, colored people also began the integration process and things seem to be making progress. Unfortunately the U.S. did not get the picture after the war because things went back to normal once the war was over. Even though it did not look like changed had occurred, it did. In the 1950s-60s women, blacks, and all others who had seen prejudice took action, and I think they got the nerve from the war and the early integration of races and women into the workforce and into the military. During the war there were three places that a grown man or woman would be seen supporting the war effort. One place is the military, women did not play a large role in the military, but they were in it. Colored men fought along side white men defending
