Chapman The Unfinished Nation Part 1, Episodes 11 and 12: The only thing that really caught my attention in episodes 11 and 12 was the section about the War of 1812. During this war thousands of people died on both sides. The British received the support from Native tribes, the United Kingdom, and the Canadian Providences. The British also had the support of the slaves in America, because they were to be set free in the event that Britain won the war. Unfortunately, the U.S. only had the support of three Native tribes, and its citizens. I was very interested in something that was said in the video; one of the speakers said that even though the Capital Building was burned down, Americans did not give up. I believe that this is the true American Spirit that people always talk about. Loyalty, Pride, And Individuality, these are three main traits that, to me define a true American. Greatly outnumbered by the surrounding, and ever advancing forces of Great Britain the U.S. politicians, founders, and citizens did not give up, they fought back! Approximately
