Chapman 1 The Unfinished Nation Part 1: Episodes 7 and 8 Episodes 7 and 8 were about the England taxes that were imposed in the early colonies and the revolution against the tyranny of England . I think that the major cause of all the wars that have ever been is money and goods . Why stop with the American Revolution, you can argue that it was not but look at it this way . England has had her difficulties, but now she realizes that the colonies in the new world are very important to the success of her economy . The only way that England could attempt to control the colonies was to impose a tax or a few taxes . They tried to enforce a series of financial revenue taxes; this did not work because the people could not afford to pay a tax to England . The colonies said that they would not pay the taxes and would like to be recognized as the United States of America . England did not like this at all so they moved troops into the colonies to patrol the streets and keep down the resistance . Once the British troops were
