IELM 202, Assignment #2 Comment
Q. 1
In general, the students can answer the question. However, some students made the
following mistakes:
z
Missed to define the decision variable
z
Do not consider the inventory issue. Consider some inventory is produced in
period 1 and do not consume the inventory in period 2.
z
Only set up production conservation constraint in period 1.
z
There is no inventory in period 2. Set the inventory for period 2.
z
Missed the nonnegativity constraint. The decision variable can be negative.
Q 2.
Most students can give correct answer. However, some students made the following
mistakes:
z
In part a), some students missed the definition of the decision variable and
some students are missed to set nonnegativity constraint.
z
In part b), some students missed to plot the isovalue contour to show that you
applied graphical method to find out the solution.
z
In part c), some students did not substitute the result into the constraints to
verify whether the solution is feasible.
