HYPOTHETICAL WORKING AGREEMENT 1 My client Freydia is 27 years old and for the past four years; Freydia has been doing crack cocaine. Last week her children were taken by Child Protective Services and placed into the guardianship of Freydia’s in-laws, Carl and Shelly Williams. Freydia wants to regain custody of her children, ages seven and nine. In order for Freydia to realize her goal, I will create a working agreement with her. In that agreement I will include my assessment for Freydia and her current situation. I will also set goals for her so that her main objective will be to regain custody of her children. Next I will be contacting to make sure that Freydia has a system in place so that she can control her drug addiction and that she is able to remain under control of that issue. Last I will continue to evaluate Freydia to ensure that she remains drug-free and follows through with the goals we have set in place. First I will need to conduct an assessment of Freydia. It is at this point I will try to obtain deeper understanding of Freydia’s issue as well as make more sense out of it. Freydia is a single mother with a lower level of education and therefore work has been difficult for her to come by. Freydia tells me that the stress of being a single parent is what she has used to excuse her drug taking. I need to make sure that Freydia understands what the underlining issue is; her drug addiction. Besides Freydia grasping that her drug addiction was a main factor in her losing of her children, I need to ask Freydia if there are any other issues making her life difficult, but may have contributed to her losing of her children, or affecting her health. From this point a physical is in order. Freydia’s drug lifestyle may have damaged her physical and mental capabilities. The fact that Freydia was doing crack cocaine for four years is quite troubling especially because the drug is very addictive and very dangerous. The cocaine may have lead to Freydia ignoring other medical issues that may have resulted naturally or directly from her drug use. I would need to
