One of the main things is stress. The problem with stress is there are many different types of it. In this essay I will attempt to explain a couple of them and how they affect an officer’s job. The four main types of stress are external stress, organizational stress, personal stress, and operational stress. With these stressors also comes ways for an officer to deal with it, so it does not get the best of the officer. The easiest way of explaining what an external stressor is, anything in a police officers career that causes on the job stress. Things such as thugs with guns on a call that you must respond to this would cause stress while the officer is on the job.
