General Recommendations for Lab reports LABORATORY REPORT GUIDELINES Report for EE/ CS M171L Class LAB REPORT MUST BE PRESENTED IN PPT SLIDES and INCLUDE The FOLLOWING SECTIONS: 1 Title page (1 slide) 2. Abstract-short and clear description of Goals of the Report and the main goals of corresponding lab Experiments (1, 2 slide) 3. Lab experiments results (“Σ Sections” ). and necessary Calculations (with error calculations) . 4. Report Results with errors. 5. Discussion- statements and analysis of obtained results. 6. Conclusions. All together Reports should not exceed 15 slides. .

Descriptions of THE REPORTS parts: Title Page Students’ Name, course #, quarter, date, lab Report number and title (1slide) Abstract Short description of the goals (1, 2 slide). Lab Results Table of lab results ( “Σ Sections”) . Consider both qualitative and quantitative results. Use plots, charts, graphs, pictures and other visual representations whenever possible. Fully label all plots and do not forget to present the dimensions of the plotted values. Report Results Present calculations based on lab experiment, and corresponding results related to the Report (ONLY). Consider both qualitative and quantitative results. Error Analysis When physical readings are taken this section should be included to document the precision and possible sources of error and calculations made to get the resulting errors. (Errors could be included into results section). Discussion This is the most important section of the lab REPORT. It shows the skills of the author in terms of his/her ability to correctly interpret the results of the laboratory experiments included into the report. Attempt to explain all deviations from expected results here. Use your head ! Conclusion
