CLUSTER 6 : CASE STUDY ASSESS QUESTIONS Middle School: “Classroom Safety” 1. How would you describe the learning atmosphere in Mr. Gardino’s (Saul’s) class? I believe that the learning atmosphere in Mr. Gradino’s class is fairly serious and organized. He makes sure that the students know the safety rules, and he is organized about how he will form the groups. He tries to present them with “real world” situations by having the students go through “job interviews,” and he allows them to experience how to work in a team in order to complete a task. 2. Do you think Mr. Gardino’s classroom management was effective? Why or why not? I believe that the classroom management was moderately effective. I believe that he did a great job of letting the students know what they needed to accomplish in their groups. He listed very clear instructions. However, I do not believe that he managed Kevin and Nick’s situation very well. Saul should have responded immediately when Kevin began to poke Nick. They are in a room where there is very dangerous equipment, and therefore Saul should have reacted as soon as a conflict had risen. 3. What aspects of planning and organization were involved in Mr. Gardino’s introduction and supervision of the project? Mr. Gardino’s students would be working with dangerous equipment, so he had to plan
