The Internet is a public infrastructure on which we can run a number of applications. These applications include, but are in no way limited to, e- mail, file transfers, instant messaging, newsgroups, streaming audio and video, Internet telephony, distributed processing, and the World Wide Web. The Internet is allowing greater flexibility in working hours and location, especially with the spread of unmetered high-speed connections and Web applications. Intranet Intranets are internal company networks that use Internet and Web technologies that allow users to find and share documents, collaborate, and communicate with each other. Intranets can help users to locate and view information faster and use applications relevant to their roles and responsibilities. With the help of a web browser interface, users can access data held in any database the organization wants to make available, anytime and - subject to security provisions - from anywhere within the company workstations, increasing employees' ability to perform their jobs faster,
