Com 213 Dr. Fahs Sept. 27, 2010 Think Back… Two summers ago, when I was a going into my sophomore year at Cal Poly, I got a job at local clothing boutique in downtown San Luis Obispo. Previously, I had worked at a surf shop for two years and been promoted to key holder/assistant manager. When I was interviewing for the clothing boutique I remember walking in and asking to see if the person in charge of hiring was available. The woman behind the counter actually said, “Oh, that’s me. What can I do for you?” I thought that it was interesting she was standing behind the cash register like an employee. She also seemed kind of disheveled and maybe lacking in experience. She also seemed overwhelmed at the task she was doing and kind of rude when she answered my inquiry like I was interrupting her. She took my resume and asked if I had time to talk right then. She led me outside to a bench in front of the store and we started talking. The woman turned out to be the owner of the store and was interested in hiring
