1 Project for AE-369 Introduction to Hypersonic Flow, Fall 2010 The project can be done individually or by a team of at most two students. Project Description: Option 1: This option will be roughly in the form of the case study of a hypersonic vehicle or system. You should select a hypersonic vehicle (re-entry vehicle, missile, air- breathing cruise vehicle, etc.) and review/discuss the important configuration design features in the context of hypersonic flow and aero-thermodynamic characteristics for the given mission profile. Note that after a general description of the full configuration, you can focus your discussion on a certain component as well as a certain mission segment of that hypersonic vehicle. You should also try to apply the analysis methods and techniques we will be learning in this class to problems included in your configuration as you see a fit. For doing this, you can make some assumptions on the geometry and other problem parameters to simplify the approach suitable for the application of the analysis and prediction methods. (For
