According to Huether & McCance (2017), Croup is acute laryngotracheitis characterised by upper airway symptoms such as barking cough,stridor, and fever. It occurs in children between 6 months to 5 years of age. The children of older age develop spasmodic croup. (Huether & McCance,2017).The causes of croup can be respiratory syncytial virus, adenovirus, rhinovirus, rubella, influenza virus A and B, measles virus, atypical bacteria(Huether & McCance,2017). The clinical manifestation of croup consists of rhinorrhea, sore throat, low-grade fever for a few days, and the develop a harsh barking cough, inspiratory stridor, and hoarse voice. Airway obstruction, respiratory failure, and dehydration are complications of croup.
