Test on EE4115 AudioVisual Engineering Duration 1 hour Answer ALL questions Question 1 1.1 A monochrome video signal has the following specification: Lines per frame - 625 Fields per second - 50 Bandwidth - 6MHz Calculate the maximum horizontal resolution of the video signal. 1.2 If the video signal in 1.1 is digitized with 8 bits per pixel, how many bits per second are required to transmit it? 1.3 Illustrate with a diagram, how the color video signals are integrated in the frequency spectrum of a PAL composite video signal. 1.4 Show the block diagram of a comb filter. Determine and sketch its magnitude frequency response. Question 2 The intensities of the Red, Green and Blue components of a color C are given by RED: 0.25 GREEN: 0.52 BLUE: 0.77 Determine the following for the color C : 2.1 Luminance ( Y ) and Chrominance ( U and V ) components, 2.2 Hue angle and Saturation. Question 3 The DC level of the video signal is lost when received in a television as shown below. Sketch the circuit diagram of a clamping circuit to restore the DC of the video signal.
