Assuming that a computer uses 16- bit two’s complement arithmetic, show how it would compute (A plus B) and (A minus B). Explain if there is overflow or not. (10 marks) Question 2: Show that in a radix- r system, the r ’s-complement of the r ’s-complement of a number is the number itself. (10 marks) Question 3: As you have learnt in lecture that NAND gates and NOR gates own the universal property. It is because the combination of a number of NAND gates (or NOR gates) can performance Inverter, AND and OR functions.
