Indicate you Name, Student ID and Course Session (C01 or C61) on the answer sheets. Please submit to the collection box located at G6418. Question 1: Given A = (-2925) 10 and B = (16850) 10 . Assuming that a computer uses 16- bit two’s complement arithmetic, show how it would compute (A plus B) and (A minus B). Explain if there is overflow or not. (10 marks) Question 2: Show that in a radix- r system, the r ’s-complement of the r ’s-complement of a number is the number itself. (10 marks) Question 3: As you have learnt in lecture that NAND gates and NOR gates own the universal property. It is because the combination of a number of NAND gates (or NOR gates) can performance Inverter, AND and OR functions. Please show the implementation of (a) a XOR function using NAND gates only (b) a XOR function using NOR gates only
