You do this from within the example project database into which you want the imported schedule dates to be received. So open the exampleChapt6.mde version of the example project database. Then click on the File control button at the top of the Access Window and select Get External Data. Then select Import from the next menu that appears. This causes the Import window to appear, as shown in Figure 7-18. Move to the directory where you saved the file example.html. In the example shown in Figure 7-18, this is the Schedule directory. Next, select the HTML Documents option from the Files of type field at the bottom of the window. Then click on the example.html file in the main part of Figure 7-18. Import window. Page 208 the window. This prepares the Modern Project to receive the example.html file. Now click on the Import control button on the right side of the Import window. This causes the Import HTML Wizard to appear, as shown in Figure 7-19. Make sure the First Row Contains Column Headings is checked, as shown in Figure 7- 19. You will now use the Import HTML Wizard to import only the relevant columns of information into Modern Project. To start the wizard to work, click on the Next control button at the bottom of the wizard's window. The wizard will ask you if you want to store this data into a new table or an existing table. Make sure that the new table option is selected. Then click on Next again. The wizard now changes the upper half of its window. You can now click on the various columns of data in the lower part of the wizard's window, and they will be backlit in Figure 7-19. Import HTML Wizard. Page 209 black. Each time you select one of these columns, the wizard gives you the choice of importing that column of data. You specify your choice to the wizard by either checking the Do not import field (Skip) box or leaving it blank. Only the columns for which you leave the box blank are imported. The only columns of data we want to import from the example. html file are the Task Name column, the Start Date column, and the Finish Date column. Select the various columns sequentially, and put a check in each of the other boxes. Then click on the Next control button at the bottom of the wizard's window again. The wizard now asks you whether you want this new table to have a key. Select the No Primary Key option, and then click on the Next control button again. The wizard now gives you the opportunity to name this new table that is going to be imported into Modern Project. It is important that you name it ''Schedule Dates." Type "Schedule Dates" into the Import to Table: field in the center of the wizard's window. Finally, click on the Finish control button at the bottom of the wizard's window. You should now have successfully imported the schedule dates that you saved from Microsoft Project into Modern Project. There is one last thing to do.
