Week 4 Check Point – Performance Appraisal                                                                                                          Performance appraisals are the most extensively debated management practices today. Most companies have different types of forms they use in order to efficiently evaluate their employee’s. Many companies in fact believe that such appraisals do indeed work, “a growing number of observers point out that performance appraisals fall short of their potential” (Bohlander & Snell, S. A., 2007, P. 348). We will now begin discussing some different facts about performance appraisals. Strategic Relevance: The biggest obstacle is that most employees do not fully understand the company’s goals, visions, and values. An effective employee has an understanding of the company’s goals and performs to the best of their ability to accomplish these goals. In
