BackgroundFlamingo Grill is an upscale restaurant in St. Petersburg, Florida. They hired the Haskell & Johnson consulting firm to run various advertisements for them including television, radio, and newspaper with a budget of $279,000. Other information H&J provides is the effectiveness of the ad, how many people are reached by the ad, and the cost of the ad. ObjectiveTheir objective is to maximize the amount of new customers they can get through the effectiveness of their advertisements, given their budget. They will reach 4,000 new customers per TV ad, 2,000 new customers via radio, and 1,000 customers through a newspaper ad. MethodologyA linear mathematical program was produced. The problem was solved using Microsoft Excel Solver (MS 2007). The data was given to me in the case, and I was able to enter in the information and create a formula to find the optimal values to maximize profit.
