2 C157 Essentials of Advanced Nursing Practice Field Experience Changes in healthcare are nothing new. Change is the only thing that is constant in healthcare. Change is the act or instance of making or becoming different. This is important in healthcare because it gives the healthcare facility the ability to develop, test, and implement change to help them improve their processes and outcomes that have to do with safe patient care and their employees. A1: Purpose and overview The purpose of this consultation is to identify an opportunity for improvement at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital (GICH) through conducting a comprehensive and systematic assessment of their healthcare facility. This will be done through data gathered through internet websites both external and internal. Sites such as the CMS for Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers system (HCAHPS) score and Hospital Compare which allows you to compare multiple hospitals and compare performance measures and GICH’s internal internet site which will allow me to see transparent specific data to the strategic plans, key results and how they align with their mission statement, visions, and values. I will perform a face to face interview with Sandra Lenarz, MHA, BSN, PHN who is the Vice President of Hospital Services, asking her open-ended questions. I will also research evidence on nursing practice and best nursing practices to assist in gathering information about my recommended change.
