Caffeine is used by 90% of Americans every day. Occurring naturally in 63 plants worldwide, caffeine is consumed in many different forms; the most popular, of which, include coffee, tea, soft drinks and chocolate. With coffee as the chief source of caffeine for most Americans, we consume on average 200 mg daily. This is higher than the worldwide daily average consumption of 76 mg but below the 445 mg that an average British person consumes (mostly in tea, of course).
