Part A1 Part A1 – Generate a stream of i.i.d. random variables U = {U n , 1<= n <= N} which are uniformly distributed over [0, 1] for N = 1000, 5000 and 10000 Hints – Use computer’s random number generator – Give random number generator different seeds for different runs, so we get different results on each trial. – Ensure the resulting r.v.s are uniform on [0, 1] – For each of these 3 streams ( N = 1000, 5000 and 10000) draw probability distribution histogram. – For each of the three runs, compute the means and variances. Compare results with computed (analytical) values. 3
