A health problem that I am able to see in my future is diabetes; one that I am facing now is being overweight. Both of these issues run in my family so I am predisposed to both of these, but I now see a lot both of these may be avoided with proper nutrition and exercise. According to the BMI calculator, I am obese not just overweight. Which admitted I am heavier than I have ever been I’m only about 30 pounds off what was normal for me and what I thought I looked good at. Now I know to be considered in the correct weight range, I would need to drop down by at least 70 pounds. Even that would put me at the high end of the desirable weight, but in a more desirable weight none the less. I have never been a skinny girl, don’t really care to be but I’m only 30 and my kids, the oldest is not even 7 until April, If I want to be a big player in their lives not just sitting on the sidelines too tired to do anything then drastic changes are needed now or I won’t be able to really be there for them. And what mother ever wants to let her kids go thru life without her, not me that is definitely for sure. I don’t care about being skinny, I just care about being there for my kids, and with them as a motivator then I know it may be hard but definitely worth the effort and struggle ahead. To accomplish this goal I know I have to make changes. Some I have already set in place, but some are a work in progress. Step 1; get the Good nutrition back, make the needed changes to include all the food groups and make sure we are all getting enough of what we need. My kids follow my example so once Mommy starts it they will start following. Step 2; once the nutrition is off to a good start, then start trying to cut down, possibly out the bad foods. To clarify what I mean by that is I want to cut out if possible or
