There are six general subgroups of geometry commands: • Vertex • Edge • Face • Volume • Group • Model The following sections describe the commands available in each subgroup. Vertex Commands GEOMETRY COMMANDS 2-2 © Fluent Inc., Jul-04 2.1 Vertex Commands GAMBIT geometry vertex commands allow you to create and manipulate vertices. The command set includes the following commands: • vertex align • vertex blend • vertex check • vertex cmove • vertex connect • vertex convert • vertex copy • vertex create • vertex creflect • vertex cscale • vertex delete • vertex disconnect • vertex modify • vertex move • vertex move virtual • vertex reflect • vertex scale • vertex summarize The following sections summarize the purpose, form, and parameters associated with each of the commands listed above. GEOMETRY COMMANDS Vertex Commands © Fluent Inc., Jul-04 2-3 2.1.1 vertex align Purpose To reposition one or more vertices and/or to reorient any connected geometry. General Form vertex align vertex1 [ vertex2 ... ] translation vertex1 vertex2 [[ rotation1 vertex1 vertex2 [ stretch ]] [ rotation2 vertex1 vertex2 ]] [ connected ] Example vertex align "vertex.15" translation "vertex.15" "vertex.4" \ rotation1 "vertex.11" "vertex.5" rotation2 "vertex.16" \ "vertex.6" connected Keywords Keyword Description connected Specifies aligning all geometry connected to the vertices rotation1 Specifies the rotation vertex pair (vertex1 , vertex2) rotation2 Specifies the plane-alignment vertex pair (vertex1 , vertex2) stretch Specifies scaling all geometry by distance ( t 1 , r 1 ) and distance ( t 2 , r 2 ), where translation vertex pair = ( t 1 , t 2 ) and rotation vertex pair = ( r 1 , r 2 ) translation Specifies the translation vertex pair (vertex1 , vertex2) Vertex Commands GEOMETRY COMMANDS 2-4 © Fluent Inc., Jul-04 2.1.2 vertex blend Purpose To set blend parameters for one or more vertices. NOTE : This command is used in conjunction with the volume blend command. General Form vertex blend vertex1 [ vertex2 ... ] [ bulge real ] [ setback real ] Example vertex blend "vertex.2" setback 2 Keywords Keyword Description bulge Specifies the shape parameter ( real ) of the blended face Range: 0 & real & 2 setback Specifies the distance ( real ) to set back a blended corner from the original vertex location Range: real > 0 GEOMETRY COMMANDS Vertex Commands © Fluent Inc., Jul-04 2-5 2.1.3 vertex check Purpose To check specified vertices with respect to topological and geometric validity.
