Trace three generations, using your own family members. Your charts can be hand-written or computer- generated, colorful or plain, as long as they contain the appropriate information. If you do not know your father’s or mother’s side of your family, make up names to fill in the appropriate information. This is just an exercise, not an invasive request for your personal information! Clearly identify your Patrilineal Consanguinal Kin and your Matrilineal Consanguinal Kin. Identify your family members as male (M) or female (F). Identify yourself as (ego). Single lines show consanguinal relationships; Double-lines (==) show conjugal relationships. As an example
