Using the chapters on language and emotions to help frame your answer, suggest two ways that  Ken could open this conversation more productively. For instance, clearly expressing his emotions and  using “I” language.   The initial onset of the conversation began with Ken speaking in a passive aggressive manner. As  Ken accused Jan of her actions, he was also denying his feelings and wrong doings in the conflict (Wood,  2010, pg. 226). Ken should have chosen how to express his emotions prior to initiating the conversation  with Jan. Here is where he needs to own his feelings and use I language to discuss specific behaviors he  would like to change about Jan when communicating about personal and private issues (Wood, 2010, pg.  186-187). Example 1: Ken could have initiated this conversation like Jan I want to apologize for my betrayal when I  went to your father years back after you told me you were considering dropping out of school for a  semester. I should have come to you first about my concerns and discussed with you how I felt about  keeping that secret. I would like to talk with you about you telling Shannon about me and Katie.  By starting the conversation with this tone, it validates each other's feelings, it is asking for  clarification, and focuses on specific issues (Wood, 2010, pg. 236). Example 2: The conversation could begin by Ken asking Jan if she could stop by to talk. Ken begins by
